Well, so ends my first MIFF. I am sad to see it go but happy to know that it will return to me next year, and that I will always have the happy moments we shared together. We had a sweet goodbye sitting in the beautiful Regent theater; Geffery Rush, Jan Chapman, Emily Barclay, a few hundred people and I, watched Suburban Mayhem, one of the most original and funny Australian films I have every seen. During our time together I also saw Thank You for Smoking and A Scanner Darkly. Three of the best films I have seen in a long time. Also MIFF introduced me to John, a stunning looking first year Swinburne film student, who I sadly lost contact with, but have hopes of maybe one day running into again. Maybe... Its possible. Oh well must leave now, but I go planning my entries to next years festival.
