I guess the main concern of decided to study film, is that you will get in to a habit of doing just that... studying it, not doing it. In my notebook I have about a thousand ideas for films just waiting to be turned into scripts and then put on film, but I'm too busy writing my assignment on someone elses film to do that. At the same time my ideas keep increasing as I learn more and more.

What am I meant to do when I leave school as well? Will I get hired to do someone elses crap comercials while my projects once again get put on the backburner? Oh well I guess only time will tell.

Anyway have to go as I have another assignment to hand in.

Film student is a title which i guess everyone sees differently. Some people think 'slacker', others 'unrealistic dreamer' or even just 'future doleblugger'. All I know is that I have always loved the idea of sitting around and discussing for many hours of the day, something I am obsessed with, and maybe even getting the chance to see some of my ideas put up on the big screen. Even if that big screen happens to be in a classroom at Deakin Uni. I know people say that film school is a waste of time and that all the great directors never went but I choose to ignore them and just take a different look at the reasons for me going to uni. Here are the main reasons that I made this decision:

1. I've only just moved to Melbourne and I figured where better to meet film people.

2. Access to free equipment.

3. Uni sounds like fun.

4. Hopefully it will keep me more focused on my dreams more than working at a supermarket would.

5.Who knows maybe I'll learn something.

6.Tax reasons.

So maybe this blog will be an insightful look into the real life of a film student or maybe it will simply be a boring rant. Either way it might be good for me and maybe someone will read it someday. If I ever finish any of my film scripts I'll put them on here too.
